Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pulse ("Pulse", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use the Pulse mobile application and website at getpulsesocial.com (together, the "Service").
Pulse is operated from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Who can use Pulse
Pulse is a dating and social networking service intended for users aged 18 or older. You must be at least 18 to create an account. The App Store content rating is 17+, but the Service itself requires users to be of legal adult age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at privacy@getpulsesocial.com and we will delete it.
2. What we collect

| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account | Email, password (hashed), display name, date of birth, gender, city |
| Profile | Bio, photos, prompts / questionnaire answers, preferences |
| Communications | Messages sent to matches, event RSVPs, support inquiries |

| Referrals | Referral codes and the code you used to join, if any |
Information collected automatically
- Device & diagnostic data — device type, OS version, app version, crash logs, performance metrics. Collected via Sentry or equivalent crash reporting.
- Usage data — which screens you view, features you use, and in-app actions. Used to improve the Service.
- Approximate location — derived from the city you provide and, if you grant permission, coarse device location. We do not track precise GPS location in the background.
- Log data — IP address, timestamps, and request metadata for security and abuse prevention.
Information from third parties
If you sign in with Apple, Google, or another identity provider, we receive the identifiers and email associated with that account. We do not receive your password.
3. How we use your information
- Create and maintain your account, authenticate sign-ins, and let you log back in.
- Match you with compatible people and show your profile to potential matches.
- Enable messaging, event attendance, and other core features.
- Process subscription purchases and entitlements.
- Moderate content, detect fraud, enforce our Terms, and keep the community safe.
- Send transactional messages (e.g., match notifications, sign-in codes, policy updates).
- Understand how the Service is used and improve it.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information with:
- Other users — your profile (name, age, photos, bio, prompt answers, city) is visible to potential matches. Messages are visible to people in your match or group.
- Service providers ("subprocessors") who host, secure, or operate the Service on our behalf. See Section 11.
- Legal and safety — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, prevent harm, or investigate violations.
- Business transfers — if Pulse is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, subject to this Policy.
5. How we store and protect your information
We store your information on servers operated by our infrastructure providers (primarily Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services in Canada and the United States). Photos and file uploads are stored in encrypted object storage. Messages and profile data are stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, at-rest encryption, row-level security policies, least-privilege access controls, rate limiting, and periodic security audits. No system is perfectly secure — if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account:
- Your profile, photos, prompts, and matches are deleted within 30 days.
- Messages you sent to other users may remain visible to those users. On request, we will redact your identity from those messages.
- We retain limited records (account ID, deletion timestamp, billing records) where required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or safety purposes, typically for up to 7 years.
You can delete your account at any time from the in-app Settings screen, or by emailing privacy@getpulsesocial.com.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated data.
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection / restriction — object to or limit certain processing.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
- Lodge a complaint — with your local privacy regulator.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@getpulsesocial.com from the address associated with your account. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (typically 30 days).

You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
In the last 12 months we collect the categories of personal information described in Section 2. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information; we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
8. International transfers
Pulse operates from Canada and uses service providers located in Canada and the United States. When your information is transferred outside your home country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and equivalent protections.
9. Children's privacy
Pulse is not directed to children or minors under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@getpulsesocial.com.
10. Cookies and tracking
On the Pulse website we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to measure aggregate site usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. The Pulse mobile app does not rely on cookies; analytics are collected through first-party SDKs tied to your app install.
11. Subprocessors
