This Privacy Policy explains how Pulse ("Pulse", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use the Pulse mobile application and website at getpulsesocial.com (together, the "Service").

Pulse is operated from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Who can use Pulse

Pulse is a dating and social networking service intended for users aged 18 or older. You must be at least 18 to create an account. The App Store content rating is 17+, but the Service itself requires users to be of legal adult age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at privacy@getpulsesocial.com and we will delete it.

5. How we store and protect your information

We store your information on servers operated by our infrastructure providers (primarily Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services in Canada and the United States). Photos and file uploads are stored in encrypted object storage. Messages and profile data are stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, at-rest encryption, row-level security policies, least-privilege access controls, rate limiting, and periodic security audits. No system is perfectly secure — if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

Quebec residents (Law 25)

If you are a Quebec resident, you have the rights described above under Quebec's Law 25 (Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information). European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland (GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, product improvement), consent (for optional permissions such as device location), and legal obligation. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

In the last 12 months we collect the categories of personal information described in Section 2. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information; we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.

Pulse operates from Canada and uses service providers located in Canada and the United States. When your information is transferred outside your home country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and equivalent protections.

Pulse is not directed to children or minors under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@getpulsesocial.com.

10. Cookies and tracking

On the Pulse website we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to measure aggregate site usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. The Pulse mobile app does not rely on cookies; analytics are collected through first-party SDKs tied to your app install.

Each subprocessor is bound by contract to process your information only as needed to provide their service to us.

12. Security incidents and reporting

If you discover a vulnerability or have a security concern, email security@getpulsesocial.com. We investigate every report.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you through the app, by email, or on this page at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.

Heads up: This Policy is a starting point drafted in plain language. Before you submit Pulse to the App Store or enable paid subscriptions, have a lawyer licensed in Quebec / Canada review it and your Terms. Apple will reject apps whose privacy disclosures don't match the in-app data they collect.
