Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-04-15 · Last updated: 2026-04-15

Welcome to Pulse. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Pulse ("Pulse", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Pulse mobile app or getpulsesocial.com (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal adulthood in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use Pulse. By using the Service you represent that you meet the age requirement, are legally able to enter into this agreement, are not barred from the Service under applicable law, and are not a registered sex offender.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Let us know immediately at security@getpulsesocial.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You may have only one account at a time.

3. Acceptable use

Pulse is a community. When you use it, you agree not to:

We may remove content, suspend, or terminate your account for any conduct we believe violates these Terms or harms other users, our community, or us. In serious cases we may report you to law enforcement.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, messages, prompt answers, and other content you post ("Your Content"). By posting, you grant Pulse a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute Your Content solely to operate, promote, and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for (a) content others have copied or saved and (b) residual backup copies.

You promise Your Content is yours to share, doesn't violate anyone's rights, and complies with these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Pulse offers optional paid subscriptions ("Pulse Plus" and "Pulse Premium") and one-time features sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play.

6. Safety and moderation

We work hard to keep Pulse safe, including photo review, content filtering, reporting tools, and blocking. We are not able to verify every user. Use good judgment, meet new people in public places, and tell a friend where you're going. If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then us at safety@getpulsesocial.com.

To report abuse, impersonation, or illegal content, use the in-app Report button or email safety@getpulsesocial.com.

7. Events and in-person meetups

Pulse may host or enable in-person events, including "Grind Date" and similar gatherings. You attend at your own risk. Pulse is not a chaperone, bodyguard, or liable for anything that happens during or as a result of a meetup, whether organized on the app or in real life.

8. Intellectual property

The Pulse name, logo, wordmark, app design, and software are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without our written permission.

9. Feedback

If you send us ideas, feedback, or suggestions, you grant us an unrestricted, perpetual, royalty-free license to use them. We owe you no compensation for feedback.

10. DMCA / copyright

If you believe content on Pulse infringes your copyright, send a written notice to copyright@getpulsesocial.com including: (a) a signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent, (b) identification of the work, (c) identification of the infringing material with enough detail to locate it, (d) your contact info, (e) a statement of good-faith belief, and (f) a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from in-app Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you've violated these Terms, if we discontinue the Service, or as required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, limitation of liability, indemnity, and dispute resolution) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT OTHER USERS ARE WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, PULSE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) CAD $100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pulse from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, your interactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Quebec, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of the district of Montreal, Quebec — except where mandatory consumer-protection law says otherwise.

If you're a Quebec consumer, nothing here limits rights you have under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll notify you through the app, by email, or on this page at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

Heads up: This is a starting point drafted in plain language. Before launching paid subscriptions or submitting to the App Store, have a Quebec-licensed lawyer review these Terms alongside your Privacy Policy. Apple will reject apps whose in-app disclosures and subscription terms don't match what the store description promises.
